Psalm 147:11 The Lord delights in those ….,who puts their hope in his
unfailing love.

We were in the store with our five year old granddaughter. When we went to buy a birthday card for our son, she insisted that she had to have another birthday card for her Daddy. “How many do you have?” we asked. “Mommy and I have two at home, “she replied.

daddy and daughterBeing typical grandparents, we let her purchase another card. When we returned home, she wanted to fill out the card herself. I stood and watched the pre-kindergartener awkwardly holding a pen and writing her name…LUCY. She then addressed the envelope with DADDDY. Oh no, I thought I will have to find another envelope. But as I watched her complete the task, I could tell that she was doing it with all the love that she has for her Daddy.

We know how to spell God, Jesus, Lord, and Heavenly Father but do we write it, say it, or pray it with the same love that a little girl has for her DADDDY?

——

God, we know that you love us. Help us when we struggle to show our love for you. Amen.
