Who are we? Here is a little about us in the hopes we can get to know you
Beautifully messy
We come from a variety of traditions and worship in a variety of ways. Northminster is a place where we can be real about mental health, addictions, and complicated families. We are a beautifully messy group of people seeking to be more like Jesus.
Love wins
We believe in the presence, the promise, and the power of God’s amazing love which compels us to live joyfully and renews us to serve God’s world.
Celebrate diversity
We welcome people of all ages, races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities and levels of neurodivergence. We celebrate both our uniqueness as beloved children of God and our unity in Christ.

Get involved
Impacting our Chattanooga community through love and giving
There are lots of ways to get involved in ministry at Northminster. First, come to worship! Our Sunday morning services are the heart of our community. It is our time to ground ourselves in the faithfulness of God, to meet the risen Christ, and to be renewed in the Holy Spirit.
Additionally, we take a stand to practice what we preach. We are proud to be partners with Chattanooga Pride. Our members take part in Black Lives Matter marches and protests for women's and immigrants’ rights. We volunteer our time to help defendants fight the bail bond system and provide necessities to our unhoused neighbors.
Within the congregation, there are also opportunities for ministry. Because we believe in the equality of all community members to contribute to and lead in the church, we rely on volunteers who help as Sunday School teachers, sing in the choir, serve as greeters, read as liturgists during the service, and assist as helpers with fellowship.
