Psalm 130
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
2 Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?
4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
A Prayer:
OK God. Here I am, down in a deep hole again. I got in here by myself, but I can’t figure out how to get out. All I had to do was walk down the path like you taught me, but I did something bad that got me off the path. Well, that caused all sorts of problems, pain and guilt! As usual, it was my fault and I knew better, but could you please take pity on me just one more time? God, are you there? Oh, please be there!
I know this is not my first offence. Thanks for not keeping score. Oh, but if you could forgive me one more time, and give me a hand out of this hole, I would be ever so grateful. I would get back on the path and try my best to avoid the next one.
Amen
May we never forget that we can ask for help.
